The Shaw Group Appoints New Vice President, Corporate Development
HOUSTON, TEXAS, June 28, 2023 – Today, the Shaw Group announced the appointment of Rhett Phillips as Vice President, Corporate Development. Rhett brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and expertise to his new role.
Rhett launched his professional journey in the field of environmental compliance and management. During this phase of his career, he assumed responsibility for ensuring environmental compliance in industrial facilities as well as for a major airline. Through this experience, Rhett developed a deep understanding of the corporate landscape, prompting him to redirect his career toward the realm of business.
Since then, his primary focus has been on a diverse range of business activities, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, corporate restructuring, power plant development, real estate development, and project finance. Rhett has played a significant role in the development of over 3,000MW of traditional and renewable power generation plants. His involvement in various transactions has surpassed an impressive total value of $3.5 billion, highlighting his exceptional aptitude for deal-making and financial management.
Rhett obtained a B.A. from Nicholl’s State University, followed by an M.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Houston. Rhett further bolstered his expertise by completing his MBA from Tulane University. Hailing from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Rhett derives immense joy from supporting his two children in achieving their goals and indulges his passion for fishing during his leisure time.
