HOUSTON, TEXAS, September 16, 2024 – The Shaw Group, a global leader in pipe and module fabrication, is pleased to announce the recent completion and successful delivery of a Cold Box to China for a major Oil & Gas Company.

Shaw’s scope included the assembly and installation of Brazed Aluminum Heat Exchangers (BAHX), vapor separators, and standpipes, as well as all related piping, valves, and instruments. With a 3-month schedule, the 458-ton Cold Box was successfully completed and shipped to its first destination, China, ensuring the project remained on track. This system is destined for final installation on a 2.4 MTPA floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) vessel, which will be stationed offshore in the Republic of Congo and will feature hull-based storage for LNG and LPG, along with topside gas treatment, utilities, liquefaction, and power management systems.
