Hydroskimming Refinery
Client: Aradel Energy
Location: Nigeria, Africa
Scope: Turnkey

Shaw Projects & Modules successfully completed the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) scope for Aradel Energy’s 11,000 BPD hydroskimming refinery located in Nigeria, the first privately held, modularized hydroskimming refinery in West Africa.
The project encompassed full design and execution of all process units and balance of plant systems. The facility includes three separate refining trains with a combined processing capacity of 11,000 bpd, producing LPG, high octane gasoline, kerosene, diesel, marine diesel, and heavy fuel oil.
The refinery was fully designed and modularized in the United States and shipped to Nigeria for final installation.

Diesel Hydrotreaters
Client: Various
Location: Global
Scope: FEED to Turnkey
Shaw Projects & Modules has successfully executed the full project lifecycle, from Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) through EPC for diesel hydrotreaters deployed at refineries and transmix facilities worldwide.
These modular units were designed with throughputs ranging from 1,500 to 10,000 bpd, and tailored to meet specific client requirements across a variety of feedstocks and operational settings. Shaw P&M provided complete design, fabrication, and commissioning support for multiple installations located in Asia, Africa, and North America.
Crude Distillation Unit
Client: Targa Resources
Location: Channelview, Texas, USA
Scope: Turnkey

Shaw Projects & Modules completed the EPC scope for a 38,000 BPD crude distillation unit for Targa Resources in Channelview, Texas. The project, completed in 2020, included full execution of both ISBL and OSBL components.

Clean Fuels Project
Client: Kuwait National Petroleum Company
Location: Kuwait
Scope: Pipe Spool Fabrication
The Shaw Group provided pipe spool fabrication services for the Clean Fuels Project, a major refinery upgrade initiative led by Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC). Shaw fabricated a total of 6,980 pipe spools to support upgrades across the facility.
The Clean Fuels Project was designed to enhance the environmental performance and operational efficiency of KNPC’s refineries. Once complete, the integrated facility reached a total processing capacity of 800,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
Ethylene-to-Alkylate Facility
Client: Next Wave Energy Partners
Location: Pasadena, Texas, USA
Scope: Pipe Spool Fabrication

In 2022, The Shaw Group completed the fabrication scope for Next Wave Energy Partners’ state-of-the-art ethylene-to-alkylate facility in Pasadena, Texas. The project supports the production of “Optimate,” a high-octane, low-sulfur alkylate with zero olefins used to improve gasoline performance and reduce emissions.
Shaw’s scope encompassed the fabrication of 15,920 pipe spools, totaling 2,864 tons of material and 491,775 Factored Diameter Inches (FDI). The facility has a nameplate capacity of 28,000 barrels per day and plays a key role in advancing cleaner fuel alternatives.

LNG Module Project
Client: Freeport LNG
Location: Freeport, Texas, USA
Scope: Module Fabrication
The Shaw Group successfully completed the fabrication of seven mega modules in 2018 at our Lake Charles, Louisiana, module facility. Each module ranged in weight from 500 to 1,500 tons.
The project scope included material management, structural steel assembly, pipe fabrication, painting, insulation, fireproofing, electrical tray installation, pressure testing, dimensional control, post-weld heat treatment (PWHT), and non-destructive examination (NDE).
More than 1.4 million work hours were executed with zero lost time incidents (LTI). All modules were shipped to the project site via deck barge.
LNG Pipe Spool Fabrication
Client: Confidential
Location: Australia
Scope: Pipe Spool Fabrication

The Shaw Group completed the fabrication of 35,000 pipe spools in 2016 for an LNG project in Australia. The work was executed at our fabrication facility in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
