Shop Mechanic

Provide Field Service to Mechanic, Shop Mechanic, or Long Term Project Mechanic.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Repairs and maintains diesel engines used to power machines, such as construction machinery, generators, busses, dump trucks, off road dump trucks, and cranes, using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, computer diagnostics, and machine tools.

– Diagnoses trouble, disassembles engines, and examines parts for defects and excessive wear.

– Reconditions and replaces parts, such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves and bushings, using hand tools, boreing machines, and precision measuring instruments.

– May weld and cut parts, using arc welding and flame cutting equipment.

– Responsible for observing and complying with all company safety regulations and industry standards. Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

3-5 Years’ experience. Applicable trade schools or technician classification with knowledge of, Caterpillar and Volvo equipment. Must possess a good understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, welding and fabrication, and electronically controlled engines. Candidate must be self-motivated, safety oriented, and have the ability to work with limited supervision in the shop and in the field.
