Job Summary:

Develop and formulate long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives. Develop manufacturing and fabrication plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of fabrication operations. Ensure products conform to established customer and company quality standards.  Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plans. Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs in order to maintain and improve competitive position and profitability. Monitor and review activities of the production levels in functional departments and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction to increase sales volume of the company. Direct and monitor functional managers and subordinates to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Monitor performance of pipe fabrication division, cost control and quality.

Manage profit & loss and meet annual objectives set by the organization.  Maintain systems and procedures for operational efficiency, productivity and turnaround time in the shops. Assure appropriate product documentation, design & fabrication standards and related material specifications are developed. Build, strengthen and lead talent base within the operations and engineering organization, creating opportunities for growth and development of the team.

Oversee each phase of the installation, equipment maintenance or product development so that the team meets company specifications and complies with federal and state regulations. Supervise installation of the equipment or manufacturing process of a product. Negotiate with team members to generate ideas and clarify specifications.

 

Identify key engineering processes and implement operating standards that drive consistency and organizational improvements across the Business Group. Oversee quality control checks, ensuring the safety and effectiveness or reliability of the system or product. Manage all operational aspects of the Business Unit, from the Business Plan to the P&L, including safety, sales, engineering and manufacturing.

 

Manage 4-7 VP’s/Directors (Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Operations, Project Management, Procurement) who supervise a total of 500 plus employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

 

Responsible for the establishment, measurement and effectiveness of all workflow processes. Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the Company. Gather and analyze customer trends to assist in developing three year strategic and business plan.

 

Minimum requirements:          Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent, and 10 years of experience in manufacturing management in a process oriented operation. Position also requires 5 years of experience managing a large segment of a larger manufacturer, or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer; working with construction management, planning, safety, accounting and finance; managing plant betterment projects; CNC machines and CNC robotic equipment; welding management; mechanical drafting; set-up operations for new product lines; and working with the following codes, standards and software: ASTM, ASME sections I, II, III, VIII, and IX; ASME B31.1 AWS D1.1.
