Our History

Shaw has a long and unique history. The legacy Shaw Group was originally established in 1987, in Laurens, South Carolina and grew to be a multi-billion dollar global organization that had built a reputation. The business was eventually sold and the well-known pipe fabrication shops saw their purpose and their ownership change a few times.

In June 2020, we announced the completed acquisition of the former Shaw Group assets from McDermott International, Inc. Many have described this as Shaw coming “full circle” which is absolutely true.

Today, Shaw operates as a completely independent, premier engineering, procurement and fabrication company with an unmatched expertise in modularization. While the name remains the same, the “new” Shaw boasts a fresh management team and 6 state-of-the-art fabrication facilities throughout the United States and the Middle East and two engineering firms with every engineering discipline on staff. Our engineering team boasts tremendous talent including extensive process design capability in gas processing, all conventional refining processes, plastic pyrolysis and all forms of gasification, renewable fuels technologies (HEFA and ATJ), syngas-derived products (hydrogen, methanol, ammonia), and general waste-to-X technologies (including the solid materials handling aspects of such projects).

From our long tenure to our multi-large project capacity, it would be hard to find a fabricator with the same credentials as The Shaw Group.
