Shaw Adds Two Quality Certifications to its Portfolio

The Shaw Lake Charles, LA facility recently welcomed an American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Joint Review of the facility which earned the team two new quality certifications – ASME {U2} and National Board {R}. The facility audit found zero non-conformances and zero opportunities for improvement.

The ASME Joint review is a two-day audit by National Board representatives and the Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA) to check overall performance per the facilities ASME Quality Manual. Each facility that holds ASME certifications are evaluated through Joint Review every three years.

Lake Charles is the first Shaw facility to earn the {U2} certification. The ASME Stamp is an indication that pressure vessels/piping adhere to ASME’s codes of construction including design, fabrication, inspection, and testing.

The audit also resulted in an added field scope to the Lake Charles ASME Quality Manual, meaning the team can perform code-related work at the facility and on job sites in the field.

The Shaw Lake Charles facility holds the following quality certifications: ISO 9001:2015, ASME {S}, {U}, {U2} and National Board {R}.
